Our mission is to inspire and promote creativity, resource conservation, and community engagement through creative reuse.

  • Art Parts is one of many creative reuse centers in the United States. Creative reuse shops like ours are a hub of inspiration, discovery, and transformation.

    Since 2015, Art Parts has helped keep over 350,000 pounds of arts and craft supplies out of the landfill.

    In 2023, Art Parts engaged and inspired thousands of Boulder County residents. Here's a snapshot of our impact:

  • Art Parts Creative Reuse Center was founded by Denise Perreault and other dedicated community members in 2011.

    Incorporated as non-profit organization in 2015, Art Parts soon opened its retail location on Bluff Street, offering a wide variety of arts and craft materials. In 2021, Art Parts moved to a new, larger space on Valmont Road.

  • Alexis Tsurumoto

    Reuse Specialist (Pricing)

    Alexis moved to Boulder after living overseas and traveling the world. She has a passion for the environment and is always finding creative ways to repurpose materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill. She enjoys painting, drawing, and crafting of all kinds.

  • Amanda Craig

    Reuse Specialist (Donations & Intake)

    Born and raised in Southern New Jersey, Amanda relocated to Colorado to pursue her passion for environmental conservation. She brings a strong sense of organization and creativity in addition to her experience in sustainability, zookeeping, and a wide variety of crafting. You can find Amanda adventuring in nature and spending time with her fiance, dog, and four frogs.

  • Amber Brown Stanley

    Partnership Coordinator & Reuse Specialist (Donations)

    Amber loves reading and writing; cooking for her husband and loved ones; playing music now and again, and eating French fries with every imaginable condiment! When people ask what brought her to Colorado, her pat answer is: “a 1965 VW bus!” Amber is a proud mom to her cowgirl daughter, and a recovering attorney. She has worked for non-profits, governments and owned her own firm for twelve years. Amber is excited to bring new community facets to the wild, wacky and wonderful world of Art Parts.

  • Austin Evans

    Reuse Specialist (Register)

    Originally from Kansas, Austin moved to Boulder in 2020, and is currently studying digital animation and game design. He's been drawing his whole life and shown his art in galleries and at the Kansas City Comic-Con selling my art alongside other amazing artists. Austin loves making friends and sharing a laugh with folks, and making the day a little more fun if someone‘s having a rough time. His special interests are movies, astronomy, and videogames. 

  • Cassandra Gerhart

    Register Manager

    Cassandra’s background is in Zoology and Ecology, but they're happiest when creating something, and has always felt inspired and at home amongst the creative supplies at Art Parts. From sewing to painting to welding and anything in between, Cassandra tends to collect hobbies, and will jump at the chance to learn a new creative skill.

  • Demry Frankenheimer

    Reuse Specialist (Register) & Made with Art Parts Wall Coordinator

    Demry received both her BS in Environmental Design and Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Colorado. She co-developed an elementary school art program and both taught and volunteered in the classroom. Over the past 15 years, Demry’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries in the Boulder Denver area.

  • Emily Kelly

    Reuse Specialist (Donations) & Volunteer Coordinator

    Emily is a graphic designer and artist who likes to write and think and do things with those thinkings—and enjoys partnering with collectives and creatives who are looking to push the envelope a lil bit (or a lot a bit). She loves exploring the conceptual nature of a given subject, gushing over typography, and connecting with others to inspire everyday in even the smallest of ways.

  • Kamille Marquez-Smith

    Donation Manager

    Kamille's creativity blossoms most when she has pen to paper (or hands to keyboard) but when she's not writing novels she likes to make tiny, wonky stuffed animals and create ceiling-to-floor collages. Her dream is to live in a forest and make pretty much everything by hand.

  • Kristen Lewis

    Reuse Specialist (Pricing)

    With degrees in Studio Art and Museum Studies from CU, Kristen mixes her time between bookmaking, teaching, museum collections, and sorting stuff at Art Parts. Upcycling, repurposing, and reducing waste are key interests in her studio practice. She is enamored with material objects (modifying their past significance to construct a relevance for them today) and is grateful for the eco responsibility, camaraderie, and abundant inspiration found at Art Parts.

  • Lani Hopkins

    Reuse Specialist (Register & Donations)

    Lani is a Boulder native who recently moved back after living in Austin and San Francisco. She received a BFA in sculpture from CU where her focus was on large metal and installation work. Since then her passion has been creating jewelry using the lost wax casting technique and most recently wood burning jewelry and ceramics. She loves creating unique pieces of jewelry and art using recycled materials and finds Art Parts to be the perfect place to find materials and inspiration.

  • Maggie Woodhouse

    Reuse Specialist (Donations)

    Maggie is a Boulder County native who's working at Art Parts and has an animal care business. She is specialized in card making, jewelry crafting, and mixed media projects. Her passion for art and animals is what drives her.

  • Marilyn Smith

    Reuse Specialist (Intake & Pricing)

    Marilyn completed a BFA in Surface Pattern Design at Syracuse University and spent her career designing textiles and print materials. As a freelancer, she designed and created screen printed materials, wedding invitations, greeting cards, and signs. Now retired, she is focused on photography and fiber arts.

  • Megan Moriarty

    Executive Director

    Megan joined the Art Parts team after serving as Deputy Director at the Museum of Boulder. Previously, she supported artists and makers in Silver Spring, MD as the owner of the Fenton Street Market and co-created networks of mutual support in diverse rental neighborhoods with IMPACT Silver Spring. She enjoys fly fishing, crafting with her nieces, and playing Pokemon with her nephews.

  • Sophia Reedy

    Reuse Specialist (Donations & Register)

    Sophia is a fun loving realtor who likes to spend her free time in the great outdoors with her furry best friend. Any time left over in her day is spent researching and experimenting with any and every craft she can get her hands on. She is well versed in many mediums and is always searching for the next project to fixate on.

  • Valentine Miller

    Reuse Specialist (Register)

    Valentine received his BA in anthropology with a minor in creative writing from CU Boulder. He is now pursuing an MFA in creative writing and poetics at Naropa. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games, writing, and generally making things in all manner of mediums from sewing to sculpture to wire weaving to digital art.

  • Wendy Hall

    Reuse Specialist (Pricing)

    After working for the Boulder Public Library for many years, Wendy has refocused her interests to her art roots. She loves working with all kinds of fiber including quilting, sewing, weaving, crochet, and spinning, but mostly raw edge quilting.

  • Cristina Ramirez

    Chair

    Cristina moved to Colorado in 2017 to attend a master's program at CU Boulder. She learned about Art Parts while looking for volunteer opportunities in the community, and joined our Board of Directors in September 2019. Cristina has several years of volunteer management experience and a passion for service and sustainability.

  • Ellen Orleans

    Member

    A sustainability program manager for the city of Boulder, Ellen is excited to support Art Part’s creative reuse community. Ellen is also an author and artist, creating assemblages featuring lost, found, and fractured objects. (Also, small plastic animals.) Ellen has taught writing and nature journaling in schools, libraries, and along hiking trails. She believes in confluence, internally and in community.

  • Katie Horney

    Vice Chair

    Katie first came to Boulder to work a summer at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in 2008 and fell in love. While her most common mediums are art painting and fiber arts, her favorite thing is trying new a craft or medium. She splits her time between making collages under the name Katie Esler and teaching sewing lessons at SewBo. The first day she walked into Arts Parts she came back twice more in the same week.

  • Kylee Covili

    Secretary

    Kylee’s strong passion for sustainable living and a lifelong love of art brought her to Art Parts. She began volunteering in the spring of 2019 and joined the Board of Directors in 2020. Currently, she works as a business analyst in the book industry, but also has previous experience with environmental education and teaching jewelry classes. In her spare time, she enjoys making found object assemblage art, as well as hiking and trail running.

  • Yuliya Kokoshinskiy

    Treasurer

    Yuliya was born in Moscow, and came to the United States in 1994. She was a co-founder and director of the Russian Center for the Arts and Humanities, a non-profit organization serving the Boulder/North Denver Metro area. She currently works as an Accountant for a Commercial Real Estate company in Denver, but enjoys creating costumes and props for the Egoza Russian Children’s Theater in her free time.
